Meredith Lynsey Schade

Founder & Creative Producer

Meredith Lynsey Schade is a commercial and non-profit producer with two decades in the theatre industry.  She was most recently the Managing Director at Barrington Stage Company. Prior to this, she was the Producing Director of HERE Arts Center, where she produced the world premiere of Taylor Mac and Matt Ray's The Hang, among dozens of other productions at both HERE and the PROTOTYPE Festival. As Executive Director of ArtWallah, she produced the largest festival of South Asian diasporic art in North America, including film presentations, visual art exhibits, and performances of dance, theatre, and spoken word.

Other credits include co-producing the Broadway productions of The Sign in Sidney Brustein’s Window; The Inheritance; Hadestown; Network; What the Constitution Means to Me; The Glass Menagerie; A Doll’s House Part 2; Hello Dolly; The Front Page; Spring Awakening; Bridges of Madison County; and Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike (Tony Award). Off-Broadway: Nevermore: The Imaginary Life and Mysterious Death of Edgar Allan Poe (New World Stages); Uncle Vanya with Maggie Gyllenhaal and Peter Saarsgaard, The Forest with Diane Wiest, and the world premiere of Venus in Fur (Classic Stage Company).

As one of the founders of the non-profit company The Vicious Circle, she has produced the international Gun Control Theatre Action Week; the two-year, international, 17-play cycle by Erik Ehn titled Soulographie: Our Genocides (including its two week marathon of performances at La Mama); and developed the devised play Unnatural Acts (Classic Stage Company). She also founded the e-play periodical StageReads and has worked in various capacities with Classic Stage Company, Ars Nova, Dee Gee Theatricals (later Madison Wells Media), the Center for New Performance, Connecticut Repertory Theatre, and on a number of independent films.

Meredith is deeply committed to mentorship and training, and serves as a professor at The New School, where she teaches "Creative Producing & Performance Production Management" and "Entrepreneurship in Production & Creation."

Never content to sit still, she has also worked in the financial sector with Goldman Sachs, Lehman Brothers, Sentinel Capital Partners and GrowthCurve Capital in a variety of capacities and divisions, including in private equity, human capital management, and securities.

Meredith holds a Masters of Fine Arts in Producing from California Institute of the Arts, and a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Design and Technical Theatre from the University of Connecticut, with additional studies at Nyack College and Jerusalem University College.
